Ohnuma and Komagatake

Before walking around Motomachi, Hakodate, we decided to go to the hotel. "Utopia Ohnuma" is located in Ohnuma Quasi-National Park, which has three lakes, Ohnuma, Konuma and Junsainuma against the noble Komagatake or Mt.Pony(1,133m).

Mt. Pony
Koma certainly means Pony, but unlike its name, the mountain is an active conical volcano. It is also called Oshima-Fuji.

You can walk or go by bicycle around the lakes.
You can also enjoy cruising by pleasure boats. (from May to October) We had planned to climb up Mt.Pony the next day, but fortunately or unfortunately, it was rainy. "Let's go to Matsumae."(Aug.22)
